Costa Rica for Mahi-Mahi
We chose the all-inclusive Westin Playa Conchal resort in Costa Rica as our vacation destination. The beach was amazing! Like the name implies, the beach (sand if you will) consisted of millions of crushed shells. The scenery there in Guanacaste, Costa Rica was incredible and there were lots of various activities available.

Deep sea fishing was on our list of things to do, but unfortunately our timing wasn't the best…the water temperature was only a couple of degrees too cold for fishing to be hot. If you're familiar with deep sea fishing, you know how important water temperature can be.
Since the fishing conditions weren't favorable, we only went out fishing once. However, we were lucky enough to get into some mahi-mahi...and boy were they ever good eating!
Keep in mind that the weather/air temperature is perfect during the first part of February, but if deep sea fishing is a priority then a safer bet might be to wait a couple of weeks and go late February.
