That's exactly what I wanted to know and here is what I found...

When choosing a fishing guide or charter there are many things to consider, price, reputation, safety, knowledge, etc. Without too much effort, it's easy to find a 'so called' fishing charter that is willing to take you out to do some 'so called' fishing, but beware...you may end up spending the entire day dragging a hook through the water on what ends up being a very expensive boat ride.
Blue Water Sportfishing has been in business for almost 20 years. These guys know how to fish and they know the waters around Acapulco. I first contacted Blue Water Sportfishing by email, over a year before I actually went fishing with them. They were more than helpful with everything I asked, from fishing to everything Acapulco. They will make arrangements to get you from your hotel to their boat located at the Malecon wharf. You can choose to bring your own lunch or purchase lunch and drinks from them for around $8 bucks. It's really simple, just show up in your favorite shorts, t-shirt and you are set! However, I highly recommend bringing a camera/camcorder, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
A few minutes into our trip, we witnessed a magnificant sunrise! We started off around 6:15 am and immediately started fishing for bait fish. It wasn't long and we had our first Bonito. This is the primary bait used for catching Marlin. Not only are they good bait fish, but they are great fighters as well! The bait fish we were catching were about 5 lbs and 20 inches long.
It wasn't long and my wife was fighting her first sailfish! Everyone who goes billfishing has high hopes of catching something, we were no different. Deep down we knew there was a possibility that we'd come back to the dock empty handed...but as soon as this sailfish took the bait, that thought was purged from our memory.
55 minutes later, she had landed this 9 ft, 145 lb beauty! This fight was all about adrenaline. I'm sure it would have been impossible to work this hard if it weren't for the prize at the end. Teresa's arms, shoulders, legs and hands were hammered after this workout was over...
Uh oh...here we go again!
This guy was quite a fighter as well. Once he got close enough to see the boat, he went crazy!
In all of the excitement, I forgot to configure my camera for action shots. These pictures turned out ok, but my camera is capable of catching much greater detail, without any of the blurring. In retrospect, the fact that I was so caught up in all of the excitement that I forgot to simply turn one knob on my camera...makes me smile!
One last hoorah and this sailfish was ours!
We had come to Mexico to fulfill my wife's life long dream of catching a billfish and surpassed our wildest dreams. On the trip, she caught 3 sailfish, 1 marlin and a bunch of Bonito.
