Pointing Labrador Retriever
This was the first year where we got to hunt over our pointing labrador retriever...and Carson's first hunt where he shot a pheasant. Over the course of several weeks, we got out several times and bagged our limits each time. It is especially fun to see the youngsters excitedly participate in the hunt and even better to have the chance to see one achieve success.
Another first, Carson's first pheasants First weekend out with our limits of pheasants
All of our dogs (yellow lab, German shorthaired pointer and pointing black lab) played a role in the hunt and certainly found birds that we would have missed. It's pretty cool to see any dog point on a bird, but definitely unique and fun to see the lab pointing.
Our pointing lab, Porter, pointing on a pheasant Just as good at retrieving as pointing
The weather cooperated all season long and the ease of the hunt made it enjoyable for us all!
